Your Guide to June in Prince Edward County

June is here, and summer does feel it’s upon us. Garden sales, yard sales, bake sales and the flowers are blooming, and the vegetables have started,  and we are now waiting for that bounty. But while we’re waiting, there’s much to discover and celebrate.

It’s Pride month, and we have some new restaurants to try, music to hear, art to appreciate, and some comedy nights to enjoy. It’s all happening just minutes away from Lilac Lane - come for a visit, we’d love to meet you.

County Road 10, Milford
(just around the corner from PECish Bakery)

The Milford Bistro is back, and it has a new name and owner, you’ll be happy to know that Jonathan Via is the chef behind this new spot. Delicious sandwiches and salads to start. The liquor license coming in early June. We’ve had the BLT and instead of bacon, delicious marinated beets with sprouts, lettuce, and tahini sauce on fresh spelt bread. Lots of choices, and it’s a fun spot. Check it out!

I first met Pat (Bear)  and Gillian Maloney at the Wellington Community Market where they had a pop–up stand promoting their Pedego Electric Bikes. In those days, I didn’t know how to drive, and I welcomed the opportunity to buy my Merlot electric bike which I loved to ride.

The business has expanded, and they now have a shop located in Bloomfield.

Not only do they have a great selection of bikes to purchase, but they also have a selection of rental bikes available to book for ½ day, or a full day, Tuesdays to Saturdays until late October.

They have a brand new fleet of super high-quality bikes available for rental.

Plenty of bicyclists visit this area every year but because of the occasional hill (such as the one leading to the beautiful ”Lake on the Mountain”), an electric bike is the perfect way to travel and see the sights.
